There are plenty of tools that aggregate information we need to look at every day, however none really do this better than Flipboard. Flipboard is an app that you can load onto your mobile device and then select what sort of content it should display. You can select from many of existing social media accounts like Facebook and Twitter, but you can also select from generic news sources and websites.
Flipboard basically converts all your social feeds and interests into a magazine style app that you can read on just about any device. It amazing at how it transforms all your disparate sources of information into something that is not only easy to read, but also fun to use. If you have multiple accounts you can synchronize these across your devices so you never miss any content.
Intuitively, Flipboard learns what you look at and will prompt you with information it thinks you’ll be interested in. This can be very powerful by introducing information that you may never have been aware of. It is very easy to get lost in the ‘discover’ features of Flipboard, given you have the whole web to explore.
Flipboard works best on a tablet device such as an iPad or Microsoft Surface since it gives you a much more ‘magazine’ style experience where your ‘flip’ or turn the pages simply by swiping.
The great thing about Flipboard is that it is totally free and simply requires a little bit of configuration to get the most out of. If you spend a lot of time reading content from the web I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how much better it makes the whole experience.
