Microsoft recently provided an update on how Windows 10 development is progressing, and the general feeling is that it is going from strength to strength and is on track for release towards the middle of the year.
At this same event in January, Microsoft showed off the future versions of Office applications. Microsoft have recently announced that these apps are now available to those running the Windows 10 technical preview.
You can download the apps directly from the Windows store. These apps are very much like the apps available on the iOS platform and are optimised for touch.
Another announcement that caught people’s attention was the revelation of Microsoft HoloLens which is an augmented reality device. It is similar to the now deprecated Google Glass product, in that you wear it like glasses, but it is different in a number of ways. It is a stand alone device and puts virtual items in front of you in a much larger way than Google Glass did.

The changes from Microsoft continue to come thick and fast and many of them are now receiving spread acclaim. This has lead to claims that Microsoft is once again cool! How times change.
