Office 365 Video portal how to

One of the latest features in Office 365 that is creating a buzz is the Video portal. If you have the video icon shown here then you have access to the new portal. Simply click on it to visit.

When you do you’ll be taken to the video portal home page. In our case you’ll see that there are already a number of videos in the portal.

Across the top, if you select Channels, you will see that you can categorise your uploaded videos into different areas.

If you go into one of the Channels you will see you have the ability to view popular, recent and videos you have uploaded.

If you then select the Upload button in the top right corner of the Window you will be able to add new videos to this channel. The time taken to upload videos will depend on the size of the videos and your Internet connection speed.

You can view the videos directly from the portal or you can imbed them into a SharePoint Team Site.

Video content is very handy for handling things such as employee training and onboarding as well as things such as Occupational Health and Safety awareness to mention but a few.

The video portal is available to all Office 365 users who have SharePoint as part of their plan. It may not have rolled out to all tenants as yet so if you don’t have it you will soon, so keep your eyes peeled.
