Microsoft recently announced that from October 1 they will be morphing their existing Small and Mid-sized business plans into simplified options.
This means that after this date you will no longer be able to purchase existing P and M plans. In their place you will have the option of:
– Office 365 Business – Desktop version of Office plus OneDrive for Business
– Office 365 Business Essentials – Office 365 services only
– Office 365 Business Premium – Office 365 cloud services and desktop versions of Office (i.e.combination of previous 2 plans)
Existing Office 365 customers currently on M or P plans will remain on those plans until October 2015 when they will automatically be migrated across to equivalent plans. They can however, also elect to migrate plans at any stage prior to this.
Probably the biggest advantage of the new plans is the ability to combine enterprise plan components that previously wasn’t possible. This means integration with things like Project Online are now possible.
