Hewlett Packard recently announced that it will split into two separate businesses. These will be one for printers, consumables and PCs while the other will be focused on services.

Both businesses will still be behemoths and remain inside the Fortune 50. This is a testament to how large HP has become over the years as it grew by acquisitions. For many external observers this growth has allowed HP to become bloated and unresponsive to the fast moving Internet age, so the division has been cautiously welcomed.

At this stage there does not appear to be any ramifications for smaller HP customers who will typically simply move to the new PC business. It is hoped that this “smaller” business will provide greater focus, flexibility and agility when it comes to PC sales and support.

Correct Solutions will continue to monitor the changes at HP and update customers on anything that they may need to know about. However, at this stage it is full steam ahead as usual with HP. Of course if you have any questions about any of these changes please do not hesitate to contact Correct Solutions on (02) 8831 8200 for assistance.
